7 Things You Need To Know About The Sturgis Biker Bar
The Sturgis biker bar is the biggest and popular bar that burned down on the 75th anniversary of the motorcycle rally at the Black Hills town. Michael Ballard, the owner of the Full Throttle Saloon and his friend and business partner Jesse James Dupree have spent a lot of time trying to rebuild the famous landmark and they want the bar ready for the next rally.
Michael Ballard got a phone call on September 8th, 2015 and it was about his favorite bar the Full Throttle Saloon has burnt down. Ballard said in a report that he lost 27 Harley’s and the stuff that he collected when he was in his 20s was placed in the bar that was burnt down. He said he lost everything that he had built up each year, and it was horrible to lose all his stuff along with the bar.
Most of Ballard’s customers could not believe what just happened and how the bar got burnt down. Some of his customers say that the bar was built by putting together piece by piece and eventually it was developed. Also, Tim Allen from New Mexico says that he likes to sit in the bar and watch the crowd.
Since the Sturgis biker bar burnt, Michael Ballard received hundreds and thousands of emails and phone calls from the fans of the Full Throttle asking Ballard to reopen the bar as soon as possible. Ballard says because of this he and his partner got the strength to get back and get started the rebuilding work ASAP.
Michael Ballard bought a new area in May and spent two months in getting the bar ready for the next rally. Ballard said that it was surely a tough time, and they have started the rebuilding process on an empty filed. He said, the buildings, main stage, and everything is going up fast, but, he said, they are still in the middle of construction.
Even the bar is still under construction many fans said that they like the new look of the new bar. A lot of people also said that the owner is going to set up in the right way and build the bar nicer than the old one. The old bar was kind of scamper butt and you can get lost says Garland.
The new bar is located just ten miles from North East of Sturgis, and the owner says he is not worried about alluring people to the new location. However, Ballard said, the new bar will never going to complete because he will be adding more thing to it every year.
The new bar is placed in a 600-acre site that is just five miles away from the old and original bar, which was constructed at the former BS (Broken Spoke) campground close to the Bear Butte base.
Michael Ballard said that for the first time the biker bar will provide RV and facilities provided to put up the tent and more cabins will be included. Also, he said in a news release that when they want to move the Full Throttle Saloon, it is just perfect to tribute the family who established this event.
